There are a number of themes I might have posted about this morning.
Martin Wolf has an article worth commenting on in the FT.
I could develop a theme on the relevance of MMT posted in reply to a question in the comments section.
I could also ponder on a world where it seems Putin will never go away.
However, I will be at my step-mother's funeral today and my mind will be elsewhere. There is also some travelling involved. I am not sure how much time that will allow for moderation, at least until early evening, by when the task might look overwhelming and I may not have enthusiasm for it.
So, on reflection I have decided not to post anything of substance today. Please accept my apologies, but sometimes the rest of life does have to take priority.
Thanks for reading this post.

Try and enjoy the day.
It went as well as these things can do.
And the chance to catch up with all my more immediate family was taken.
The church she had attended bade her farewell more than appropriately
This is life.
Wish you and your family well today.
Thank you
I am not a Trinitarian Christian but it has rarely been said better than this
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn,
It was a part of today’s service
Confucius would approve. He would say you were a “子子”, a son acting as a true son.
I hope everything goes well.
Go well. And please wear a high quality mask.
Family is more important. My thoughts are with you.
Thanks
Totally whacked tonight
As these things go, it went well
But I always find funerals exhausting
Strauss’ Four Last Songs on radio3 around 19.45-.50 and Tchaikovsky’s Pathetique after the interval – both rather appropriate
sorry to hear that.
there’s nothing more important than the people we actually live our lives with. especially not comments on a message board/blog.
be well~
Thanks
No apologies needed Richard. Your family comes first.
Your work output is outstanding, illuminating and for me it’s inspirational.
Thanks
