Labour has chosen a one-word title for its 2024 manifesto:
I think this document is wholly misnamed.
Its real title should be 'misrepresentation'.
The whole plan is about maintaining the failing status quo. How can that represent change?

The manifesto title matches their party name: Labour (in name only).
But that’s how authority misleads.
Democratic Republic of the Congo: not democratic
Freedom of choice: Hobson’s choice.

Newspeak in action
I guess they mean change in the way the French describe change
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose
Shortchange comes to mind
Orwellian double speak. !
No Change No Ambition
Not only is the word “change” inappropriate, but the corner of the flag shown on the lectern and the wall is the wrong way up (I was a good boy scout!) You would have thought they would have got this right considering all the flag waving that Labour’s been doing of late and the PM’s D-Day debacle.

@Oliver: well spotted re the Union flag!
So what’s the distress? The current state of Britain, the Labour party… or the general public in 2025?!
Starmer wants to be in the centre ground he’s made that clear. He wants to be completely different to Labour under Corbyn, he’s made that clear too… what are you not getting??
So the Party he leads isn’t for you or others on this board, so what?? You are free to vote and support whoever you want . The Greens seem the obvious fit. Off you go..,
You are aware that the party he leads was conned by him into making him its leader, aren’t you?
Do you like conmen?
But it is not the “centre ground” is it ?
It is a massive shift to the right.
Promising virtually nothing of substance, such that even a neoliberal commentator like the IFS have noted that it is a programme involving <1% of government exoenditure, only confirms your direction as straight down the line continuity with Toryism.
Being well to the right of the Lib Dems is a long, long way from centrism..
He is completely different to Labour under Corbyn. He is completely dishonest.
“Nochange Toulouse” the well known French gunfighter – appearing at a LINO rally near you real soon.
Book your seats for a truly forgettable show.
(apologies – Monty Python).
Should be
SHORT CHANGED
Some wit over on the Guardian cif correctly called Starmer’s Labour the party of small change.
🙂
To combat ‘Desperate Man Walking Into the Abyss’ we have ‘Chump Change’ from ‘Stagnant Starmer’. Mired in toxic irrelevance, Sir Keir inserted 34 pictures of himself in the Labour manifesto. If that doesn’t scream ‘Narcissistic future Dictator’ I don’t know what else you are looking for in a failing PM hopeful. I have two appointments at Guy’s so I will be spending a few days in London next week. I am hoping to volunteer handing out leaflets for Andrew Feinstein, a man with genuine humanity and principles. I really hope we can ‘Unseat Starmer’, the dangerous demigod, before he has a chance to seize power in the UK.
