”He’d really like to lead us, but he’s rather vague on why” – very good!
If I were the Tories, come the election I’d use this as an attack on LINO, on the basis that it is unclear if there would be any change what so ever with LINO and things would very much stay the same. Vote LINO, get no change. Worst that could happen – a hung parliament – with the Tories sniping from the sidelines as the Lib=Dems and LINO tear lumps out of each other.
BTW: drove through France on Friday – farmers gone feral – never seen anything like it & the only people they disconforted were French serfs.
One other Tory “ha-ha” waiting for LINO – working on the basis that they win this year is this:

This will be a slo-mo car crash & an early test of LINO (in?)competance. Renegotiate Brexit? gift to the Tories.
Try and make it work? Good luck with that. There are various work arounds – why doesn’t Britain grow its own?
But that would need gov support and……..”there is no money” paraphrasing Reeves.
It is almost as if the Tories designed/timed all this for LINO to “enjoy”.
LINO need to say something about this – they really cannot duck it
Richard, perhaps slightly veering off topic, but Too ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ weird not to share:
In the blurb for The Marsh Family video, they say:
“The other inspiration behind this song is the Flight of the Conchords’ “Bowie’s in Space” which was essential listening as the kids grew up, and “pointy nipple antennae” remains a household phrase. Check it out if you haven’t.”
So I looked that up.
It’s Way out there Man! & totally worth a share. !

For those intrigued by this weirdness, there is a preceding scene introducing ‘the ghost of David Bowie’, but it is 4 min 26 secs long:
