Berlusconi vows to fight corruption charges

FT.com / Europe - Berlusconi vows to fight corruption charges.

Silvio Berlusconi, centre-right prime minister, said on Thursday he would defend himself in court against what he called “absurd” charges of corruption after the rejection of his immunity from prosecutionby the constitutional court.

This should be fun.

I helped make the Panorama on David Mills - who has of course been found guilty of acting corruptly with Berlusconi. I was convinced by the evidence against Mills before his conviction: the case could have been made equally against Berlusconi but for his then legal immunity.

It will be interesting to see how he gets around it. If there's a defence it has to be a good one.
