Two of my friends from the climate movement were on Sky News this morning, both making vital points.
Zoe's protest is incredibly clever, precisely because of its simplicity.
Rupert, I suspect, is closer to where most people are:

In a word – eloquent, so eloquent.
The sort of stuff you wish politicians would come out with.
Except that they won’t because too many have been bought.

(NOT Rupert)
((are hashtags still a thing?))
Whilst I mostly agree with Zoe, it is disingenuous to claim that ‘nobody is harmed’. Those people missing appointments or work hours because of traffic jams would certainly disagree. Those paying for the cleanup of snooker tables and other similar things covered with orange dust would certainly disagree. Traffic jams cause extra pollution and carbon emissions, too. You can argue that the harm is minuscule compared to the overall damage done by fossil fuels, but don’t pretend it’s zero.
I’m sorry – but that is really splitting hairs given the scale of the issue.
The only things being harmed are people’s sense of entitlement/exceptionalism to continue to use their cars and as well as the cotton wool they wrap themselves in to avoid the truth.
The truth is now upon us. But only because you’ve been lied to for years and years. But instead we get angry at JSO people instead.
The truth hurts a lot more than that – ask anyone who has lost their car in a flood or been in a car – terrified- that has been caught in one of those urban flooding events we’re seeing a lot more of. Or how about on road with fire and smoke on either side of it.
Stuck in a traffic jam?!! Late for work?!!!
Yeah right! Let’s have some sense of proportion shall we folks?
That’s basically the same harm that people get from road works. If you think that environmentalists causing traffic jams require legislation to stop them, then presumably we should also ban road works?
I wish I could stop my kids making me late for everything too. If just stop oil are a nuisance to people getting things done on time, then god knows what sort of legislation is required to keep small children from making us late all the time. Perhaps that will be in the next Tory manifesto?
Trouble is, the ones with power are the loons like Lord Frost. Here is his latest thinking (not really thinking, just something he came up with when rubbing his two brain cells together).
Rising temperatures are “likely to be beneficial” for Britain as more people die of cold than heat in this country, Lord Frost has said.
“Digging deeper, what are those consequences of the hotter, warmer summers and warmer, wetter winters?
“At the moment, seven times as many people die from cold as from heat in Britain. Rising temperatures are likely to be beneficial.
https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/politics/5979640/rising-temperatures-likely-to-be-beneficial-for-britain-says-lord-frost/
Of course the fact that seven times as many people die from cold has a lot to do with Tory policy, which he conveniently forgets, but here is his masterful conclusion.
“I suggest that the rational thing to do is to move away from the current high-cost mitigation efforts, efforts which also involve massive investments in unproductive renewables, huge changes in lifestyles as well as crushing economic growth, and pursue mitigation in a different way.
With brains like that running the country we are screwed.
Utterly stupid stuff from him
Does this pompous ass Lord Frost ever research anything in any depth and why do journalists give him their time? Same reason none of them have heard of AMOC:-

The noble lord seems to have forgotten the grass fires of last year that destroyed houses in Essex.
July for the uk has been protected from the high temperatures due to the Jetstream being diverted south of us around the low pressure areas.
This could change, we have a hard time doing weather forecasts of 5 days.
The noble lord seemed to be doing predictions for a few Decades to come.
Wonder who did the brief for his output, the oil industry or a supporter of them.
We could have very hot summers but very cold winters, even with ‘Global Warming’, try overnights outdoors in Saudi Arabia even in summer.
This article on attitudes to climate action (from a German web site – but in English) are instructive:
https://www.cleanenergywire.org/factsheets/shared-challenge-attitudes-about-climate-action-france-and-germany
Most people in most countries want action, fast. We have the tech, what we lack are politicos that will act & a selection system (for politicos) that offers to any country’s electoral system, politicians willing to articulate the desires of the majority of people for action & to act. Some politicos get it, many (the majority?) don’t.
Meanwhile inhabitants of one village in Northumberland are just getting on with it.

Unfortunately she came across as a bit of a crank and certainly that’s how the mass of those watching will have perceived her.
All people challenging the status quo appear like that.
