This is an entirely gratuitous post: a post just because I want to do it.
Because I like this song and the spirit that it embodies, at so many levels.
And I like the fun these performers are having.
And the memory that once we could meet in this way.
And the hope that we might do so again.
Because, simply, I find this uplifting right now.
And that's good enough.
Thanks for reading this post.

It’s a great song – just because it is from the 80’s shouldn’t be counted against it.
Tony Levin (the bass player) made that album.
He’s an amazing bass player
Also in King Crimson….
Also an accomplished player of the Stick!
I have noticed
Here’s another great song, with rejigged words –
“Save Lives – Stay in the Hoose!” https://www.facebook.com/708568335/posts/10158432658568336/
Wow. I have the album on an ipod and it’s one of the things I listen to on planes (just a personal tradition). However, I have never been to any concert or seen any video that I recall. This was great.
He is one of those people with a haunting voice, like Stevie Nicks, Michael Stipe, Sinead O’Connor and Adele, to name a few.
Flying (and being offline with it, on many long flights) was always a stocktaking moment for me. I largely gave it up just over 10 years ago but have wondered lately if I’d ever do it again. If I do I plan to watch this or listen (ipod will be retired) with a smile. Thanks.
You’re welcome
There are several versions on YouTube
This is my favourite
The live album is good…..
Maybe you should do more gratuitous posts Richard. Like book etchings, it breaks the text and appeals to other senses.
I may….
In this new world the blog has a bigger role in my life right now
A truly amazing artist who has written truly amazing songs. Here Comes The Flood is one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard. Peter Gabriel 3 or “Melt” is my favourite Gabriel album.
Downloading it….
Thank you for making my day.
We are capable of such wonder and prone to such blunder…
🙂
